Will a dog whistle or ultrasonic bark controller (the non-collar type) work through apartment walls?
My neighbor will not keep her dogs from barking at early morning hours for hours straight and I am losing sleep over it since I can hear the dogs very clearly through the walls of our apartments and she will not put them outside. I would not like to call someone like the police just yet and hope something I can do myself will solve the problem. I have seen dog whistles and those indoor/outdoor ultrasonic devises that go off when they pick up a dog barking or manually. Would either of these work through the walls of an apartment? Are walls are thin enough that when the dogs are barking, it sounds like they are in my apartment, but I also want something that is quite to humans, so she has no idea that I am doing this.
Any suggestions would be appreciated it

I had the same problem with the dog downstairs. I tried a dog whistle, and the bark controller and neither of them worked. I even tried putting it right outside of the door to their apartment that’s in my foyer and it still didn’t pick up his barking. I tried it on my dog just to see if it was defective- it wasn’t, but the bark controller didn’t go off unless it was less than 2 feet from the dog. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you’re probably going to have to address the issue with your landlord.

I would think not, since the sound is going to get obsorbed by the wall and everything else before the dog hears it.

My Neighbors And The Dogs From Hell!
We had been having trouble for months with our neighbors and their dogs. The dogs will bark all day and all night and it does not seem to bother them.
I live in an apartment and used a device I bought online and it worked really well. My neighbors in the next apartment had a dog that would bark all day. I used this device that costs $20 and the barking stopped. I was totally amazed.

So what was the name of or type of “device” you bought? If I worked, why not share details so others can benefit? I’m in a similar situation w/ a 1/2 Beagle 1/2 Jack Russel who lives on the other half of our twin home. Thin walls and the darn dog barks all day while they are at work! They have 4 dogs total and when they are all barking I feel like I live next to a pet shop!!! Sick of it! I deserve peace inside my own home! So what worked for you? PLEASE give info I’m desperate.
