What is strongest bark collar out there. Real answers please, I dont need reasons as to why I dont need one.?

ultrasonic dog trainer

My dog is insanse, bark collar worked when he was younger. It no longer works, one of those PetSafe Deluxe Collars, worked until he has gotten bigger. I have tried Citranella, Vinegar, Ultrasonic (what a joke), and nothing appears to be working, even trainers have had no luck. This dog can open doors, open latches, climb fences, you name it. A McGyver of sorts, his name is Merlin and sometimes with his miraculous escapes he is slowly inhereting the name Houdini. Someone help without speeches about morale, I will skip the answer and read onward, I want to know the most powerful bark collar money can buy. Static shock is nothing, have any of you felt it, its like rubbing your socks on carpet, there is nothing SHOCKING about it. Help! :)

Tritronics sell the MOST powerful bark collar there is, period!!
Your question made me smile because I thought back on a malinois that had the same problem as yours does.
I got the Tritronics bark collar, but, if and when you order it, MAKE SURE that you ask them for the plugs that do NOT come with it..they are that strong.
I will tell you, I have seen 200 plus dogs react in a way that you would never expect out of a collar, that is all I am willing to say here without the bunny huggers losing it.
Trust me, that collar with the extra plugs will bring an elephant to his knees!!! Good luck!

Try the DT Systems collar – they are built like tractors, and have multiple settings.

Sounds like you have no control over your dog. Sorry to say. Even tho you’re going to skip this answer…I believe shock collars are wrong and inhumane.

Heard alot about Tritronics and Dogtra. Get the one that has different levels. Also if you have the money. You should try a good behaviral dog trainer. Not Petsmart. Just so you can have better control of him.

Try obedience school. Dogs are barkers, that’s why they r dogs. Obedience school will teach it to bark when it’s suppose to and yes a shock does hurt. I shock myself all the time in the winter. High electo energy in my body, and it hurts alot!

Dogtra is good, we have it for our lab when we train him for hunting but we never have to use it because she knows what will happen, I sometime use it on my beagle because when he is loose he doesn’t listen, but there again I never have to use it, clyde knows what is on his neck, but if and I say if you have to use use the mildest mode.

Even with a pack of Beagles, I don’t like bark collars for the simple reason that most dogs will become "collar wise" because of them, and being a collar trainer that is the last thing I need to happen. Besides the bark collar won’t do a thing for the Houdini problem. Personally I would want to create the association between the quiet command and the correction. IMHO this can only be done with a normal e-collar, not a bark collar. The other benefit of the normal e-collar is that it requires your participation in your dogs training. So if it was my dog it would have a tri-Tronics Pro100 strapped on it’s neck, and I would be using a fairly high level "nick" (momentary rather than continues) correction.
The deal with using the nick is that it is actually over before the dog feels it.

I have 14 sled dogs and have used several brands of bark control collars. The brands that did not last for me are PetSafe, DT Systems, Innotek, and Dogtra. The only brand that has been reliable is Tri-tronics. The model is called the bark limiter xs. I have three of them that are 4 years old and still work perfectly. I don’t know if its the most powerful one but it is the most dependable. A consistent correction will be more effective than a stronger one that isn’t consistent. When I bought them the best price I could find was from Cabela’s.
