What dog bark stopper device is truely inaudible to humans?

ultrasonic dog bark

Some ads for the wall-mountable no-bark devices say they have an ultrasonic setting where only dogs can hear it, but I’ve read reviews by people that say that you can hear it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

depends on your age. The younger you are the higher pitches you hear. Kind of like kids can hear the mosquito while parents cant.

The ultrasound devises have very mixed results. Get a copy of Turid Rugaas book "Barking. The Sound of a Language" and figure out why the dog is barking and what to do to correct it.

You cannot hear them at all. They also will not affect any other of your animals

After weeks of not being able to sleep, I decided to check the internet and found a lot of people that recommended "The Anti Barking Dog CD".

The website is at http://www.antibarkingdevice.com if you are interested.

I don’t recommend these devices at all. Especially since they will drive all animals in the neighborhood crazy, not just your own. First you need to find out WHY your dog is barking. Only then will you be able to stop it. Here are the solutions for the different types of barking:

Boredom Barking: Especially prevalent in dogs that are left home all day with nothing to do. – Hire a dog walker, leave lots of stuffed Kong toys, Feed all meals in food dispensing toys, Play games with your dog, etc.

Demand Barking: Dogs that bark because they want something, food attention, etc. – Ignore all barking! Some dogs love the attention of being yelled at. You can also try time outs. Every time the dog barks, lock him in a room for 2 minutes then try again. Reward calm behavior with your attention.

Watchdog Barking: Dogs that bark whenever something passes the window. – The quickest solution is to block the window. This is a very ingrained behavior. If you can’t block the window, try the timeout method.

Stress/Anxiety barking: This dog is barking because it is freaked out, scared, or anxious- Consult a behaviorist to find out what is scaring your dog. Your dog may need behavioral medications on top of a desensitization/ Counter-Conditioning program. Using any kind of anti-barking device will make the dog more anxious and the problem will get worse.
