Problem with barking dog.. Anyone use the PetSafe Ultrasonic Bark Control Unit?
I was wondering if anyone has used the PetSafe Ultrasonic Bark Control Unit with success? I just got a puppy and I am crate training her right now. But I have a problem with her barking when I am in the other room or when I am not home. Her barking is disturbing my neighbors (I live in a very thin walled apartment).
I also have another dog and a cat in the apartment so, I was concerned about the thing being set off and the other animals hearing the sonic noise when they do nothing wrong.. Anyone have success or suggestions?! Thanks

I recently had a really bad situation involving my neighbor’s dogs and their barking. I work at night and sleep during the day when people usually don’t pay attention to their barking dogs.
I asked my neighbors to quiet their dogs down and they agreed. The dogs are still barking at about the same rate so I am sure that they did not take me seriously.
After weeks of not being able to sleep, I decided to check the internet and found a lot of people that recommended "The Barking Dog CD".
To make a long story short, I popped the CD into my CD player and the dogs stopped barking almost immediately. As on person stated "I almost fell out of my chair when the dogs stopped barking". I totally agree with them. It worked like a charm and wont bother cats.

You should try The Dog Training Guide. It’s a 12 chapter book where by 1 chapter of the book is emailed to you each week. Week 1 is about how to stop a dog barking and goes into detail about why collars do not work. I’d definatly recommend it. I’m on week 9 now, and every chapter has been so helpful! You should get the first chapter instantly after putting in your email address. Check the source for the link.

I had a problem with my neighbors dog barking every time I went in the back yard and was desperate, so I bought one. I love it. It gives an unpleasant sound when they bark and most dogs quit. Just one caution, any loud noises sets it off, so just don’t turn it up too loud. Now I just have to have it around and the dog knows not to bark all the time.
