He continues to lick his wiener, along with all the dogs at the dog park. My Vet says this is because my dog is sweet tasting down there. My dog has already got two infection of the penis because of the licking from other dogs. So I need a recommendation for a non toxic, non alcohol, deterrent spray.

I’ve already tried a natural spray through Petsmart, but my dog just enjoyed licking it.
Where can I buy it?
Sorry, I think my wording was off. OTHER dogs keep licking MY dogs’ penis causing MY dog to have infections.

dog collar training

2 days ago I got my 47lb female lab x Rotti a prong collar because she pulls on walks and because she has aggression towards other dogs. (Having never been socialized with them)
She walked great with it! And I could easily correct her when she tried going into one of her berserk rages when she sees another dog. But then I tried walking her in a field…
She changed back into her pulling and strained against the leash as hard as ever. (It was on properly, it was high on her neck). As soon as she stepped back onto pavement she went into a heel… How should I train her? She didn’t seem to feel the prong collar at all.

Besides that she learned really fast. I’m teaching her the word "heel’ and she already understands what I mean ( I still need to perfect it though) I am also teaching her the command "loose-leash" Which just means she doesn’t have to heel anymore.
I am training her by correction- if she pulls I will give her a tug so she comes back to me. If she is obedient she gets praise and occasionally a treat.
I live in Canada- its the CKC here. I’m not getting her a trainer. She is a dog.
I don’t "babble" to my dog. She understands what I want her to do.
Isn’t longe line work for horses? I looked it up but couldn’t find what it is.
I tried the head collar… It does limit her pulling but because if various reasons I’ve decided not to use it.

okay so I tried training my dog with a static training collar and she completely flipped out she didn’t understand what the static stimulation was for.. Ive trained two other dogs using this collar and they both understood perfectly what it is I am not asking them for 1,000,000 dollars I’m asking them for simple commands they already know sit come ect. But this dog a wire hair pointing griffon/ lab mix just does not get the picture and its not on its highest level of stimulation in fact it’s only on 1 or 2 out of 10.. is it because its a female and the others were male or?? Any ideas
i am using the collar because of her attention span she always has something on her mind so im using the collar to motivate her to pay attention more.. i cant use treats because when i do she gives me a completely different kind of attention and one that doesn’t work well.. im training her to be a water dog and family pet and when i throw the dummy into the water wile she knows the reward is a treat she says what? just give me the treat.. she is a year and a half old and hyper thanks for your answers!! ps the other two dogs are amazing retrievers and great hunters

ultrasonic dog collar

My girlfriend has a year old Jack Russell – Australian Shepherd mix. VERY hyper dog. She comes to visit every weekend or every other and brings the dog. She has a cage, but doesn’t like to leave her in there. I love the dog and can deal with her, but I can’t deal with the barking or the constant need of attention.

When I walk her, she pulls constantly. I shorten the leash and keep the dog behind or beside me, and try to keep her head up. I try not to allow her to jump up on counters or the kitchen table. And I definitely don’t like her on my bed.

However, if we don’t feed it constant attention- she will start to whine, growl and bark at us. If we are trying to have a quiet night- the dog is always getting in the way. Also, if she hears ANY noise outside the door, she’ll bark like crazy. So much so that I’m considering a shock collar or ultrasonic device without telling my girlfriend.

Since I’m not the dog’s primary owner, how can I teach the dog to respect me in my apartment?

I’ve read up a little, and know we just need to ignore her when she starts to growl or bark- but so far she’s just kept going until my girlfriend gives in. When my parents got our dog (16 years ago) we put her in the basement when she was bad, or bonked her on the nose- and treats to enforce good behavior.

Thanks in advance!

dog collar training

The reason is the dog barks at other dogs while inside our fence. I know that our dog had little socialization when it was young and did not get Her until She was about 3-4 months old. I take Her to the Dog Park, and everyone and every dog likes Her. She even receives complements about How well She behaves with other dogs. But if those same dogs walk by our fence, it is all bets off. One Dog in particular is a Shnoser who drives Her wild. The other night, She pulled away from my Wife on the leash and the two got into a fight. Ended up taking other dog to vet for stitches. So I know She needs training, but do we use someone that trains hunting dogs that uses shock collars.
